The moment we’ve all been waiting for…

… MY INTERVIEW IS UP!!!! Argh, it’s amazing! I’m so happy with it, be happy for me and read read read:

Fullmetal Alchemist interview!

I cannot tell you how happy I feel about it! I want to give many thanks to Marcello and of course John (who gave me the opportunity in the first place) I feel like I’m accepting an award at the Oscars.

So after passing my exams and getting my interview up, I’m a pretty happy woman!

I have to apologise for my lack of posts recently, I try to keep this blog as much Japan-related as possible, which is not so possible when I’m not in university as the only Japanese thing that happens to me is my occasional trip to Noodle Nation (which is Chinese anyway). It’s nice to see people are still reading though, thanks guys.

My wonderful Japanese teacher emailed me after I passed my exams to say well done, it was emotional. I haven’t been doing much (or any) Japanese learning recently, this needs to change! I’ve been working almost every day so it’s hard to get the motivation, but after my holiday (in 2 weeks I go to Amsterdam!!) I’m going too get right back on it!

Thanks for all the congratulations messages from you all 🙂 it was so much appreciated. I haven’t forgotten you.

Fullmetal Excitement

So I have some brilliant news, next Friday I will be interviewing the creators of Fullmetal Alchemist! *scream*

This amazing opportunity has arisen after one of the glorious staff members of Japan cinema (John) unfortunately realised he wasn’t able to make it and so passed it onto me. I am so super excited!!! Thank you John (I don’t actually think he reads my blog? Actually I’ve never read his either… here’s the link, you guys check it out and I’ll catch up later: John H Marshall)

So from the information I have, the interview will be in London with 2 other journalists (I say ‘other’ as if I am actually a journalist!) and it will be around half an hour long with Mr. Kazuya Murata and Mr. Masahiko for the release of FMA 2: The Sacred Star of Milos. I have a bunch of questions already and now I’m just rekindling my love for the series by watching the whole thing again! Why not ey!

So as today is my day off from the shoe-craving public, I am going to lie in bed, watch Fullmetal and write for Japan Cinema and Lingualift. (With plenty of tea!)

London MCM Expo 2012 Pictures

It was awesome. Enough said! I took a billion pictures but I’ve tried to cut it down… see if you can recognize any of the characters, some of them were pretty badass.

MCM Expo!!

I’m going to the MCM Expo tomorrow

I am so freaking excited!! Anyone else going?

Unfortunately it’s been so sunny (is that bad?) that I haven’t been writing much, gotta enjoy that sun, after all, this is England!

However expect some news in the next few days about, film reviews, blogs for Lingualift and LOTS OF PICTURES FROM COMIC CON! Sweeeet.

Easter Blues

It’s been a while! Unfortunately I’ve been ill and stressed, all in all it’s not been going well (eg, I’m in the library, on my own… there is nobody else in uni except me I’m sure)

BUT, it is Easter Sunday tomorrow!

Not that Easter means much to any non-Christians… though from what I hear there are many Christians in Japan so I suppose you guys get what I’m talking about?

I have been an absolute let down on the film reviewing/article writing front (sorry guys!) There are not enough hours in the day (which is exactly why I’m in the Library on my only day off.. I’m actually quite annoyed that tomorrow is Easter because it means I can’t actually do any work.)

Doing my Kanji portfolio… I say ‘doing’ though all I’ve actually done is gathered the work that I need to start, probably won’t start it for another 2 days. What I really wanted to do is photocopy pages out of the books about Japanese lesbians, but NOOOOOO, the photocopier room is locked and the security guard won’t give me any change for the other photocopier, what a jib!

I’ve got another essay to write about Emperor Hirohito and his involvement in war crimes which is proving to be quite interesting actually, currently reading Herbert Bix’s autobiography, it’s controversial (so you know it’s good!)

That’s it for me today, I promise to be back on form next week, life is dragging me down so some nice loving words would be appreciated right about now!

Kiki’s Delivery Service

Watching Kiki’s Delivery Service 😀

I love Christmas time because the English channels always seem to play Studio Ghibli films, which as we know are AWESOME!

However, I’m really not into anime as much as I used to be, after my commitment to Death Note which turned out to SUCK I kinda gave up. I need a good anime to revive my love. But, to be honest, the only anime series I ever really loved were Elfen Lied, Death Note and Ninja Scroll.

Suggestions!
